One of the favorite things our grand kids like to do when they come over is to race their toys in the garage. Of course after a while it gets boring to just ride on a level floor so they generally try and find something to ride over. Well since Grandma Jan isn't crazy about boards and boxes getting pulled from their places she decided to build them a ramp. Since Jan babysits every Monday tomorrow will be the inaugural race day.
For the last 2 or 3 summers I've lost the battle in trying to keep the hill water off of our bottom. So during my spare time between field work and seed corn selling I tried to make more room for the water to run.
I mentioned last week we got a new pup. She is getting used to her new home and is fast learning who her friends are and who her enemies are.
Friday evening the Oskaloosa Chr. Grade School presented their annual fall music program. Six of our grand kids were in the program. Their theme was be a hero by being a hero for God, a winning combination.
One of the benefits of helping out during the Family Leader's Presidential Forum was seeing what goes on behind the scenes. Speaking of scenes in the presidential reception room there was a guy painting caricatures of every candidate that participated last evening. He was unbelievably good.
Here Frank Luntz, the forum moderator for the event, is telling the six candidates that participated what to expect. The purpose of the forum was to help enlighten the voters. Santorum, Bachmann, Gingrich, Perry, Cain, and Paul all shared their worldview and their faith. Romney chose not to participate.
I also attended a Truth Project reunion where Del Tackett visited and shared what's next. His next video series is called Truth Encounter. It talks about taking the first series content, the truth of seeing and knowing who God is, and applying that truth in our everyday lives by being an awesome neighbor.
Whether it's our families, our careers, politics, or our faith walk, we know God is in control and wins in the end. Speaking of the end did you ever look up in the clouds as a kid and wonder what Christ second coming will be like? I did and still do when I see clouds highlighted by a beautiful sunset.
"Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet's call. So lift your voice, it's the year of Jubilee, out of Zion's hill salvation comes."
