Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen."---Winston Churchill   We've been in the field 2 1/2 days in the last 4 weeks. Many folks haven't turned a wheel since late April. We do have around 90% of our corn planted and about half of our soybeans. Around our community a few famers have finished. Also a few haven't started planting. They only had time to get their fertilizer applied. Most fields are either saturated or flooded. The forecast is for thunderstorms 7 of the next 10 days. This rig below has sat on a bottom southwest of Lovila on a farm Kurt rents for the last 2 weeks.   Planted corn has been slow at emergence and growth. The field below was planted April 14. Our life's stories are a series of memories from as young as we can remember to our current year. Many of the fun times involve interaction with others. Last Sunday our family got together for Mother's Day. It's always fun to watch cousins (our grandkids) enjoy life together. Every Mother's Day at our church the men in the congregation sing. I'm not sure who to thank for this picture. If you notice we also had communion remembering Christ died for our wrongs and then conquered death by resurrecting 3 days later.   Bev has Brant on 99.9 radio in the evenings talking about 3 things. The joy of being a grandparent is watching your kids raise their kids and getting it right with God's help. Parents and family are much of the influence in how God designed the path to children being a respected citizen and an asset in society. Below Kristin brought supper to the field last Tuesday evening where Karl was spraying and I was tendering him. Last Sunday was a beautiful day for Ki and Mariah's graduation party at the cabin. Ki is my brother Doug and Ginger's daughter. Mariah is my brother Bill and Julie's daughter. Mariah has a little brother Michael. He is fishing with his cousin Mike. Mike is my parents oldest grandson. Michael is their youngest. Michael and Adi were fishing together with a red plastic cup and fishing line they had put together on our pond dock.
