We look forward to Sundays at our house for a variety of reasons. A day of rest. Fellowship with God and friends. The first day of a brand new week. Kurt's Pastor Tom says, "if you're having a hard week, remember, Sunday is coming."   We put in some long hours earlier this past week. NH3 application for this coming year's corn crop is over the hump. The crop ground that needed attention prior to planting preparation has been taken care of. Most of the seeding that needed done has been completed. Jan had made me a haircut appointment thinking it was going to rain. Well it hadn't rained yet at the time of the appointment so I drove in from the field to my haircut with the tractor since town was closer than home. We took time to watch the grandkids race their Cadet cars on Wednesday evening. Our family spent Good Friday helping move my parents to a smaller more convenient home. Tiling can be a tough job and even the grandkids get wore out...

Have you walked up to a door before or visited a home or business where you could just see and feel the atmosphere was upbeat and full of life? Life and those we enjoy it with are gifts. It's not our call however how long we get to keep these gifts. We had friends bury a grandson this week. A set of parents in our community dealt with losing a late pregnancy of twin boys. Another family lost a nephew. Today is also the anniversary date of losing a good friend. So our job is not only to enjoy this gift of life but to add to it by looking for ways to bless others. People love to be around folks that are selfless, outgoing, upbeat, and positive. It's a struggle sometimes to hang out with folks that suck the life out of a situation by being self centered, negative, and criticizing. BJ and Cassia got back late this week from helping add life to a poor family in Mission, Texas. This work group went down with Joe to build a home. Adding life means discovering new ways...

I don't know if you have noticed or not but we have had some colorful sunrises this month. Warm, dry days in Iowa in March are a gift.   Southern Iowa has been able to take advantage of our unusual March. Karl has been taking care of our seeding jobs for folks. BJ, Ryan, and I have been working on some cornstalk hill ground going back to corn this spring. If a person is going to tile in the spring March is the month to do it. BJ and Alex have been working on the list. Kurt, Brad, and Alex have been the NH3 crew this week and have been working hard with three outfits. Farm traffic on our roads is part of the landscape during busy times. These NH3 tanks were being pulled back to town empty from one of our fields when they were hit by a semi. Fortunately no one was injured.
