It's interesting these days what we have in dozens . Even back in Bible times there were a dozen tribes of Isreal. Jesus had a dozen disiples and there were a dozen baskets of food left after Jesus fed 5000 people. Every week Jan bakes 25-30 dozen cookies for fellowship time after church on Sunday mornings. We get our eggs from our neighbor and landlord Ron Voss. He usually brings us 16 dozen at a time. Everyone in our family knows there are usually always eggs in the garage refigerator if they are short at home. Jan has flowers everywhere around the yard. Sometimes she will pick a dozen to put on our table or share with others. This past Friday evening we celebrated Amelia's 5th birthday. She's the one on the left. Since everyone was there we took a picture of our dozen grandkids. Once in a while on Mondays when Jan babysits I wouldn't give you a nickel for another one but I can assure you I wouldn't take a million dollars for any one of these.

Despite all the thunderstorms this summer and worries about yellow spots in our corn fields God's grace breaks through the clouds and showers us with good things. Here are a few blessings he has given us this week. "He has shown kindness by giving rain from heaven and crops in their season." This past week BJ and Cassia and their family along with Karl and I went to Rehoboth Christian School to help our landlords, Marvin and Jean Rozenboom, replace a ceiling in the kitchen area of the fellowship hall. We had a wonderful time working together and made many new friends in the Rehoboth community. BJ is removing old ceiling after Jean had made sure all appliances were covered properly. Marv,BJ, myself, and Karl are all working together finishing the new ceiling Jean is having a discussion with Karl and BJ Before painting Karl is cleaning the grid supports while John trys to hold back the air flow and BJ supervises Karl is texting Kristin again. Oh well, he needed a break Our little work group always had meals together outside We ended our week and our project with the promise of God's faithfulness

The 2010 planting season started out great allowing us to get our corn planted in early and mid April. Then it became kind of hit and miss as the rains came heavy and frequently. As the 4th of July has come and gone and with most bottoms still under water I think most folks are going to call it a year when it comes to planting. Last Saturday, June 26, Kurt and Emily were married in Pella. We had a really neat time with family and friends. Jan and I are so thankful for our children's spouses and fiance. After honeymooning in Jamaca Kurt and Emily are living in Pella where Emily is babysitting for a doctor couple and Kurt will farm and do customwork for Cargill Inc.
