There has been a lot of sickness going around this winter, type A flu, respiratory virus, and cold symptoms. I often fight the "hurry virus". What are the symptoms? A compulsive need to rush through life. To get stuff marked off the list. To make another list.
I can rush to nowhere. I often hurry up and wait. I can worry about what people are thinking. I hurry to please folks that can't be pleased. Is there a message in this mess? I think sometimes we find our worth in what we do. For me to rest is to read or listen to a book. By the way, did you know a 3 hour NFL football game with a previous week of hype and watched by a third of our country's population only has about 15 minutes of actual live action. 😊

Last Christmas our children gave Jan and I a night out for supper with all of them. So 14 of us enjoyed Mexican at Cantaritos in Pella last evening. Thanks for making the time kids. Thanks for taking our picture Ethan.
On Friday noon a family we farm for brought lunch to the shop for our crew. We had a delicious homemade meal and good fellowship. Thanks for the meal, the friendships, and trusting us with your farms.
A number of our kids, grandkids, and help took a day and visited the Iowa Power Farming Show. Thanks for the picture Emily.
Joe, with Zeiglar, has been helping Mike gets his equipment ready for spring. Mark has also brought some equipment in to be inspected so there is less down time during a busy season.
Grandsons Ethan, John, and their friends constantly have a vehicle they are working on. They gain a wealth of experience as young men working on projects.
To borrow a line from Brian, my son-in-law's sermon last week, "Freedom (from whatever we struggle with) is less about what we do, and more about what we are becoming". God continues to work on us through the Holy Spirit, so we will produce fruit. I'm not perfect, but I serve a God that is. So, I don't try really hard to be "good enough". I try really hard because of my "gratitude" for God covering my imperfections.
So, what fills your tank? Mine is when folks say thanks for the help. Thanks for thinking about me. Thanks for sharing your stuff. Thanks for the relationship. Remember, it's impossible to love people when your in a hurry.
