Friends. At 6:30 this morning my computer made a funny noise and I lost everything I had written for the last 3 hours. Bear with me and I will try and start over. I will probably update but in an abbreviated form.
Let's try this again. Ezra (15), Elijah (14), and Jackson (8) are helping Grandma and myself mow yard.
Risefest last weekend in Sheldon, Iowa.
Rachel's high school graduation party last Sunday evening in her families new shop. Rachel is working at Bank Iowa this summer.
Children will never grow more than the environment they are in. That includes people, places, and ideas. A father's job is to give them room to grow (responsibility).
Dads need to be strong. Strength is more than muscle. There is occasionally strength in surrender. There is often strength in idling horsepower (humility). There is strength is apologies when appropriate. There is always strength in serving others.
While making a living it's not how much of our money we dare to give to God. But rather how much of God's money we dare to keep.
Jim and Dean helping get Dean's air compressor going so I can blow the dirt and crop dust off the combines.
The gals of our family except Jan. Emily, Gideon's fiance, Daughter Becky, and daughter-in-laws Kristin, Cassia, Suzanne, Stacy, and Emily. One of the main influences a father can have on his children is to love their mother. I love Jan deeply and would be much less of a father and person without her.
The crew around here usually roll their eyes when I take pictures. However I wanted to honor these five fathers. These brothers are helping raising their children, and our grandchildren, to love and serve the Lord. You've all been a blessing to your father Kurt, Mike, BJ, Mark, and Karl.
And finally, what an enjoyable evening last night when Jan's class of 1973 from Oskaloosa High School came for supper and reunion at the cabin. Just another example of our Heavenly Father's faithfulness over the last 50 years. Sorry I lost my first story. Must not have been meant to be. Blessings.
