Sunday's Coming

We look forward to Sundays at our house for a variety of reasons. A day of rest. Fellowship with God and friends. The first day of a brand new week. Kurt's Pastor Tom says, "if you're having a hard week, remember, Sunday is coming."
We put in some long hours earlier this past week. NH3 application for this coming year's corn crop is over the hump.
The crop ground that needed attention prior to planting preparation has been taken care of. Most of the seeding that needed done has been completed.
Jan had made me a haircut appointment thinking it was going to rain. Well it hadn't rained yet at the time of the appointment so I drove in from the field to my haircut with the tractor since town was closer than home.
We took time to watch the grandkids race their Cadet cars on Wednesday evening.
Our family spent Good Friday helping move my parents to a smaller more convenient home.
Tiling can be a tough job and even the grandkids get wore out. This is John riding home with Grandpa Saturday.
The gals and kids look forward to Sundays especially during field work because they know they will be together as a family on that day.
Rainy days are catch up days in more ways than one. Repair. Regroup. Refuel. Relax. On Thursday after a rain those of us who were available went out to lunch in Tracy.
Jackson was happy to hang out with his daddy after not seeing him the first part of the week.
John and Gideon are becoming good tiling helpers to their dad when it's too wet to be doing fieldwork.
Malaki was all smiles when he got to help his dad do errands on the yard.
This week we are especially looking forward to Sunday. In preparation for celebrating Easter we gathered as a church on Good Friday and had communion together.
This evening, Saturday, we worshipped together with friends in Ottumwa.
Tomorrow (I'm writing this on Saturday evening because of sunrise services) we celebrate an empty tomb. Our Lord died on the cross for our sins. However on the first day of the week He rose from the dead. Forty days later He went back to heaven. He loves us and wants to have a relationship with us.
We shouldn't go to church because there are folks that expect us to and it wouldn't look good if we didn't. We shouldn't go to try and get brownie points with God. We should be excited about Sunday coming because that's when we get together with God and friends. Sundays are meant to be joyful, positive, exciting experiences. Have a blessed Easter Sunday.
