While They Were Wondering

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift from God. That's why we call it the present. Ever wonder what a day, what a week, or what a year is going to bring?
Early in the week we in Iowa wondered if we would ever see spring like weather. We are still cooler than normal.
This is the picture that titled my post this week. This was a Mountain Dew break. Pablo, Karl, Mark, BJ, and Kurt look like they are wondering about something. :)
This little guy is wondering whether he should hide or jump. Yesterday Mark delivered his trackhoe to a farm near Lovilla to help Brad and Kurt. While Mark was unloading, Stacy and their kids and I were chasing mice all over a large machine shed.
Brad and Julie are friends of ours. Their daughter Avery loves to help her Dad with the chores.
Kurt is telling Mike he is wondering what happened to the bottom half of his oil dipstick. :)
Karl is getting ready to deliver a load of seed corn. Friends Mike and Andy are wondering about Karl. :)
Brad has an idea. Mark, Kurt, and Karl are wondering about Brad's plan. :) My daughter-in-law Kristin taught me how to make a smiley face.
This cave is on Kurt and Brad's rented farm. It reminded me of Easter. It made me wonder about Jesus's friends and family that first Easter morning. Their previous couple of days had definitely been history making. Their tomorrow's were also still a mystery to them. What they would later realize was that as they stood by that empty tomb on that present Easter morning, they were experiencing the most amazing gift of God this world has and ever will see.
Luke 24 says that the women entered the tomb and did not find the body, and while they were wondering about this, two men in clothes that shone like lightning told them that Christ had risen. This miracle is the very reason we are undefeated as we stand by or eventually lay in a grave.
Yesterday is history. Many times I wondered. Yet as a family we cannot begin to count all the blessings God has given us, including His Son as a payment for our wrongs.
Today is a gift from God. That's why we rejoice today. We remember this present by celebrating communion. Communion is kind of a reenactment of the Last Supper our Lord had with His disciples. It's purpose for us is to remember and believe.
Tomorrow is a mystery. We don't know what the future holds, especially for our kids and grandkids. We have a responsibility to share the Gift we celebrate today with them and others. And we know who holds the future.
No guilt in life, no fear in death. This is the power of Christ in me. From life's first cry to final breath. Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand. Till He returns or calls me home. Here in the power of Christ I stand.  Keith Getty
