Our fields have been wet now for about ten days. Fortunately it's warm and the crop that is planted is growing. Waiting to go back to the field also brings opportunities for other activities and relationships.
The grandkids are around more on wet days. They enjoy doing things together as cousins.
Ethan was collecting worms in a paint can lid so little Anton asked Grandpa if I would help him find a worm. Well the first thing we looked under we found this selemander.
Ezra, Elliott, and Zach are pretending to do dirtwork in their mom's flowers.
One rainy morning we went to a landlord's house for coffeetime. Here Marv is showing the boys how a two row planter used to work.
The warm wet week actually helped some fields emerge through a crust that had been caused from a previous pounding rain.
There was plenty of time to go to the Osky Chr. Grade School's music program. Also these boys get to spend time with their dad.
Because of waiting on the wet weather, attending Tulip Time in Pella was an option one evening. These Pella folks are dressed in their native Dutch costumes, washing the street ahead of the parade.
This is ten year old TJ's funeral procession we were part of. The drive from the church to the country cemetary went right by the families driveway. It was a powerful funeral that emphasised waiting on God for His strength and grace and looking forward to Heaven.
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared. We are to live self-controlled, upright, and Godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, to redeem us, and to purify for Himself, a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good." Titus 2:11-14
