Anticipation Or Apprehension

Anticipation is waiting eagerly for something you know is going to happen. Like a spring break trip to Colorado.
Apprehension on the other hand is a fearful or uneasy feeling about the future. Like the possibility of falling between the mini bulk bags while playing on top.
Spring isn't quite here yet but we couldn't wait to get out and move some dirt. The frost is starting to rot and coalmine shale doesn't hold frost well so Mike with help from his brothers started reclaiming a coalmine project.
This job brought back many memories as the boys remember riding these coalmine piles on their 4-wheelers with their friends during their school years.
BJ is showing Randy and Dean some planter parts that need attention. If the weather would cooperate and the soil would warm up we would like to be ready to roll in 3 weeks.
Our old planter monitors used to have a little light for each row. If a light came on that meant you had a problem. End of story.
Today's planters monitor close to 20 things including population, spacing exactness, skips and doubles, equal down pressure per row, seed to soil contact, smoothness of the field, and even $ loss/acre if you drive to fast.
Not only are seed traits stacked now days for more stewardly use against bugs, weeds, diseases, and drought, seed treatments are also becoming more complicated and more effective. Sylvester stopped to tell us about the latest and greatest in seed treatment. Sylvester was part of the Chicago Bears for two years. His cousin plays for the Denver Broncos.
Well once again someone stole all the copper wiring off our dryer and bins up north. This time they even cut the wires out of the 4oo amp service. They also took all our tools and supplies. It's not a professional job and we're guessing probably someone we know. Don't ask me how I'm feeling about this right now. I guess I need to count to ten a few more times.
Early one morning this past week I attended a Bible study with a few legislators at the Capital. It's a rewarding experience to read and pray with the few that are rock solid in what they believe and why they are there.
After Bible study I went around to greet a few friends. Below I'm visiting with two pumpkin farmers, a lawyer with 10 kids, and a Latino pastor, in the Senate Minority Leader's office.
Grant and Lacey's families got together last evening at the cabin in anticipation of an upcoming wedding in early April. Congratulations.
Also congratulations to Brad, Julie, and Avery who welcomed little Brielle into their family this week.
One thing our church still does is have a combined Prayer Day Service for crops and industry. We met with Bethel church and we just ask God to bless our families, our schools, our churches, our jobs, and our country.
Well after another snow event last night a person could get a little apprehensive about spring and everything that needs to get accomplished. Oh well. As we anticipate warmer weather and wait for open doors we just need to learn patience, relax, take a day at a time, enjoy each others company, and TRUST. Have a great week.
