It happens every year. About mid week folks came for a few bags of seed corn to finish up and by Friday the seed beans were rolling out by the tender fulls. Our countries farmers have an amazing ability to get the crop in when given the opportunity.
Many went day and night anticipating a break mid week due to the 80% chance of rain that was coming. By Wednesday midnight it was clear it wasn't going to rain in our area. So Thursday morning everyone kind of regrouped and went back to work.
It's not just the guys that work extra hard and have long days this time of year. Today is Mothers Day and I'd like you to remember and honor all the gals that support and keep their men going by holding down the fort back home.
Mom's make supper and give baths only to notice later that her crew has put their gum boots on and are riding through a mudhole in their pajamas.
Mom's let their little guys race motorcycles even though they're not totally crazy about it.
Mom's let their big guys have some fun time even when the to-do list has still been on the fridge for a while.
Some of those jobs on that to-do list a Mom just can't handle and are more pressing than others.
Sometimes a Mom cleans the bathroom so often she thinks it might just be easier to order an outhouse and send them outside.
Just like customwork once in a while a Mom will be asked to tackle a job that just doesn't seem possible. The mess on the toolbar in the picture below is net wrap from big round bales from a farmers field.
Gals we can't do it without you. Your support and encouragement affirms us and makes us feel we can make things happen. We also need correction and reminders. Doing those without tearing us down is the most effective way.
God given gals and Christian mothers are a gift we too often take for granted.
No one in the world has a better mother than I. She had a birthday yesterday. She had an anniversary Wednesday. She has Mothers Day today. She usually gets one card for all three celebrations.
She taught selflessness, generosity, and encouragement by example like no one else I know.
"A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also and he praises her: Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring praise at the city gate." Proverbs 31: 1,11,17,28,31
My wife is the reason for so many good things including a neat yard, raising our children and allowing us to give them responsibility and to let them grow up being adventurous, and allowing me to wholeheartedly pursue the vocation I love. Thank you Lord for the women you have given us..
