On Your Mark. Get Set. Grow.

There are days when I get up with a plan or a mission and a strategy to get it accomplished. Then there are days when I feel I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a shovel. Thomas Jefferson said, "It's hard to stop a man with the right attitude. It's hard to help a man with the wrong attitude".
When things are going well and a person is productive, secure in who they are and what they do, and thankful for what they have including family, a right attitude comes easy.
However when folks experience uncertainty, dwell on mistakes, receive criticism, and feel overwhelmed, a good attitude is much harder to sustain.
Moses had his hands full leading the Israelites in the desert and was feeling overwhelmed. One day his father-in-law came by and said, (I'm paraphrasing), what you are doing is not good. You are an idiot. Quit trying to solve everyone's problems on your own.
Moses's God and ours is so much bigger than our circumstances. God loves it when we ask for help. And not just ask and hope, but ask and believe.
Many times it seems like others are compromising in order to get ahead. Faithfulness to your cause and belief is noticed and is a good example.
On your mark is where you are in any given situation in life.
Get set is your decision in how you are going to handle the situation you are in.
Grow. We can learn from all situations in life, good or bad. Based on what we learn we can also grow.
If we choose to be workers we only help ourselves. If we choose to be equippers we help others get to the next level. If we choose to be motivators we change the whole atmosphere and attitude of the situation we are in for everyone involved. Enjoy your extra hour this morning.
