Stop And Smell The Donuts

We emptied our office this week so we could re wax the floor and paint the walls. What you see below is the unorganized pile of furniture and office equipment in the shop that needs to go back soon. However if you look close you will also see a box of donuts.
Now we could worry about that pile of furniture, or we could stop and eat the donuts.
There are plenty of things we could be concerned about this week. However worrying about things we can't change is a waste of energy. And sometimes we are just stuck in a rut, not a ditch.
And if you look around you will find that there is always someone stuck in a bigger ditch than you are.

The fact that our first batch of sweet corn is done for is good news for some hungry cows.
My friend Rick was back in Iowa this week. Talk about losing the battle and winning the war. God is so using him to keep the moral and conservative issues that are so important to us and our country in the forefront of this years elections.
Karl, myself, and several other seed dealers got together to talk about the issues of the day and looking forward to next year. After our meeting we all went to Slideways in Knoxville and had a blast racing each other.
This is Kurt and Gideon being pulled to the pond getting ready to stir the water up a little. Poor John in the background has not been able to be in the water much since he broke his elbow and has been in a cast the last five weeks. Well it's not been healing quite right so this past week he had to go to Des Moines where they rebroke it and pinned it hoping that would help.
Little Allison has a soft seat in Brian's bow case while her older brothers and cousins are riding and playing in the coalmine hole.

We spent some time this week walking corn fields and checking out the ear development during this dry summer. We have had three rain showers since the first week of May and it's been close to four weeks since we've had rain. Although some areas are done for I'm still hopeful and quite surprised at how a lot of this crop is still hanging in there. We are going to continue to focus on the donuts in the background and enjoy all the little and big blessings we experience every day.
Have a good week everyone. Summer is going fast.
