Who Is This

This is Gideon and his new calf with John standing by. The calf was a twin and his Mom wasn't interested in her so Gideon, with his Dad's help, bought it and took it home in the old van.
Becky and Brian's boys also have a bucket bottle calf. DOT, their dog, is making sure the calf feels welcome and part of the family.
Often when Karl gets weaner pigs they double fill him and then about 8 weeks later half the grower pigs go out to fill someone else's shed. Kurt and Karl are pushing the pigs on to a semi.
Brad and Kurt are unloading their Rangers to check fields for wet spots, missing or broken intakes, or tile holes. The issues are either repaired or noted to be fixed later with a backhoe or a tiling machine.
My Mom had shoulder replacement surgery this past week. She is doing well and recovering at North Mahaska Nursing and Rehab. My sister Beth came from Colorado for a few days to help out.
Several grandchildren were involved in our churches Cadet car races. Kutos to the Cadet counselors who work with the boys every week with Bible lessons and projects. Two memories come to mind. The first is being a counselor 35 years ago and having my brothers as Cadets. The second is Jan helping build many cars over the years for our boys.
I hurried to Sully the other night only to meet grandson, Cody, and his Mom, Suzanne, at the door as he had already finished playing his trumpet. I did get to see Gideon perform at the Fine Arts Night for Junior High kids.
Well, late March is tree planting season. Wayne and his son-in-law, Kurtis, moved trees for us yesterday.
Matt has a full time job and is a busy dad. However a couple times a week he comes out and helps farm. He is getting some ground ready for seeding.
With Mike and Mark digging a hog shed pit for Sherwin, BJ tiling, Karl working on seed delivery, and Kurt and Brad applying NH3, I was able to get some odd jobs finished including some seeding. Seeding is usually effective when it can be done in March.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem on the donkey, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?" The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee." Matthew 21: 10-11
Saturday evenings after a busy week are my favorite. Beautiful sunsets are a promise to me of Someone bigger than myself in charge of what I try to do. Because of Palm Sunday, we have Easter. Because of Easter, we have the promise of an eternal future.
